HOW TO JOIN THE COURSE ?

ESALQ/USP offers 40 vacancies annually for those who wish to enter the Forest Engineering course. Today, there are two ways to enter: through the USP vestibular, held by the University Foundation for Vestibular (Fuvest), and through the most recent Unified Selection System (SISU), which uses the score of the National High School Exam (ENEM).

See how each one works:

FUVEST

USP offers 28 VACANT SPACES to enter through the vestibular of FUVEST, which occurs only once a year and consists of two phases, open to any person. The applications to take the exam, occur in mid-September by filling out a form and paying a registration fee. It should be noted that students who have taken their high school in a public school do NOT have to pay this fee, but only have to present a proof of education before the enrolment period.

The first phase consists of a 90-question alternative exam, which covers content in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Foreign Language (English), History and Geography. The so-called "cutting mark" varies from year to year, but in 2018, the students who hit at least 40 POINTS (Forest Engineering Course) passed to the second phase.

The second phase takes place in two days and consists of dissertative exams. On the first day, ten questions of Portuguese are charged, of equal value, involving understanding and interpretation of texts, grammar and literature and writing. On the second day, the exam presents 12 questions from specific areas to the course of Forest Engineering, being these Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.

For the course of Forest Engineering, USP reserves, of the 28 vacancies, 18 VACANT SPACES for wide competition, 6 VACANT SPACES for public school students and 4 VACANT SPACES for those who declare themselves black, brown or indigenous.

SISU

Admission through the Unified Selection System uses the National High School Examination, which is held annually in the second semester. USP has allocated 12 places for this means of entry, 4 of which are 4 VACANT SPACES for students in public schools, 6 VACANT SPACES for wide competitions and 2 VACANT SPACES for those who declare themselves black, brown and indigenous.

The ENEM can be done by any person who wishes to enter a university, just fill out the form and pay the registration fee at the ideal time. It should be noted that for those who are in their final year of high school, the payment fee is NOT charged.

The exam is taken in two days, in which a 90 question alternative is applied. On the first day, knowledge of humble sciences, languages and writing is charged and in the second day, nature sciences and mathematics. To enroll in the course of Forest Engineering, the student must obtain a minimum of 500 POINTS in each modality of the exam, being able to choose in which modality he wants to compete for the vacancy.
